New Delhi. The process of home delivery of LPG cylinders is going to change from 1st November. The cylinder will not get LPG cylinders without OTP. Oil companies are doing this system to prevent piracy and identify the right customer. The system has been renamed as Delivery Authentication Code (DAC). Oil companies are going to implement this system in the first 100 smart cities. Thereafter, these systems are ready to be implemented throughout the country. A pilot project has also been launched at Jaipur and Coimbatore. The pilot project has achieved more than 95 per cent success.
Under the new system, there will no longer be LPG cylinders without OTP. A code will be sent to your registered mobile. An app has been developed for this real time code. These codes have to be given to the delivery boy. If the code is not given, the cylinder will not be found. The cylinder will be available only after telling the OTP code. Let us say that these systems will be applicable only to domestic cylinders, not commercial cylinders.
